A grant-making foundation deploying EUR 14m across Baltic decarbonisation seeks a trustee to chair its finance and risk committee.

I · The seat

Baltic Climate Foundation funds grid flexibility, building retrofit and peatland restoration work across Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Following a doubling of endowment inflows, the board is recruiting a trustee to strengthen financial oversight and investment policy as the foundation moves to a multi-year grant commitment model.

II · Responsibilities

  1. II.1Chair the finance and risk committee (four meetings per year)
  2. II.2Oversee investment policy and endowment manager performance
  3. II.3Review annual budget and statutory accounts before board approval
  4. II.4Act as a critical friend to the CFO and executive director

III · Ideal profile

  1. III.1Qualified accountant or senior finance leader
  2. III.2Experience of endowment or treasury oversight
  3. III.3Comfortable with Estonian and EU nonprofit reporting norms
  4. III.4Genuine interest in climate mitigation
